On Saturday, 17.02.2024, we organized at the “Wisdom” University College the first seminar held by Dr. Klarida Rrapaj, psychologist expert in victimology and criminology, specialized in communication and specific learning disabilities (DSA), in Italy.
During the meeting, the doctor explored the history of criminology, starting from its birth to modern theories. It is essential to understand the historical and social context in which criminology has evolved in order to fully appreciate its evolution and current challenges. Only by knowing the past can we understand the present and plan for the future.
Criminology, in fact, is an ever-evolving discipline that has developed thanks to the contributions of researchers and professionals who have devoted their lives to the study of crime and criminal behavior. Thanks to their dedication, today we can better understand the causes of crimes and identify effective strategies.
The “Introduction to Criminology” seminar was a unique opportunity to summarize the knowledge gained and to discuss challenges and opportunities in the field of criminology. It is important that we, future professionals, are always up-to-date with the latest theories and methodologies, in order to provide maximum support to victims and contribute to making our society a safer place.

This seminar enriched the students of the psychology department by offering them new tools to become competent and aware professionals. Our university continues to work with passion and dedication to help develop students and provide specialized and certified training.
